FAVORITE FALL ITEMS

Hydrate Water bottle – This aluminum water bottle is less than half the price of a Hydro flask, but still keeps water cold and fresh all day long without the use of chemicals commonly found in plastics. I recently upgraded from 28 oz to 32 oz, and try to average about six of these per day. In general, the recommendation is half your body weight in oz fluids daily + 20 oz for every hour of exercise. If you live in a warm climate or sweat a lot, you likely need more. Electrolyte tabs like NUUN can be helpful or try adding a pinch of Himalayan sea salt to meals.

Hello NED Hemp Oil – I started using this after a few rough bouts of insomnia. At first, I felt like it helped me fall asleep pretty quickly, but after a few nights of use, it was hard to tell if it was working. I don’t know much about the Cannabis market but have been learning as I go.  This oil or “tincture” as it’s called in the CBD world, is small-batch made in Colorado, and is mixed with coconut oil to improve absorption. It has a full spectrum of active cannabinoids, which work to nourish your body’s endocannabinoid system (ie: if your body is imbalanced, this is meant to help create equilibrium). You only need a little bit (10 mL) to start, and use the dropper included to place the oil under your tongue, and hold for 30-60 secs before swallowing (this can be weird). It definitely doesn’t taste great, but water helps get rid of the aftertaste. This is considered “medium acting” meaning its effects should last for 4-5 hours. If you have trouble staying asleep, there are longer acting pill versions (I may try this next).

Purely Elizabeth granola – All their granola flavors are delicious and super crunchy – made with gluten-free oats, and full of healthy fats from nuts and seeds, but low in sugar. I am loving their fall inspired Cranberry Pecan granola (also try the Pumpkin Cinnamon flavor). You can eat this right out of the bag, or on top of hot oatmeal or Greek yogurt. I have seen this granola at WholeFoods and Star Market, but I like to get it from Amazon in bulk (it is also cheaper!).

Primally Pure Deodorant – I was very skeptical about switching from my clinical protection deodorant. This brand has been the only natural deodorant I found to withstand 100 degree summer days commuting in the city. Aluminum in traditional deodorants has been linked to breast cancer. This one is charcoal-based which is naturally detoxing, and has a fresh peppermint scent.

Unreal chocolate – This brand creates tasty chocolates that only have a few grams of sugar per serving, no artificial sweeteners, and they are gluten-free and vegan. These dark chocolate almond butter cups are rich and delicious and also portion controlled and with minimal ingredients. Try them frozen. You can find them at most major grocery stores and Amazon.

TOZO Wireless Bluetooth Ear Buds – Much more affordable than apple ear buds, with great sound and comfort. They are easy to connect and come in a self-charging case that allows. I haven’t had any issues with the battery running out so far!
